She There are several dances and chants related to Pele and I learned it from Kumu . S he is hot-tempered so it is very powerful and represents her. I don't have any photos related to it , but I'll shere another photo next time . If you don't know her myth, please check it or I can tell you. Mahalo.

Chant

イメージ
Aloha. Let me introduce Three Kahiko Chant. These are important chant dedicated to the Hawaiian Gods. Hawaii has four major Gods: K ā ne, Lono, K ū , and Kanaloa.   K ā ne is the creator of space and earth, Lono is associated with peace and agriculture, K ū is associated with war, mountains and the ocean, and Kanaloa is god of the underworld and ruler of the ocean. Three Kahiko Chant is Kauliua that is related to Lono, 'Au'aia that is related to K ū and Kanaloa, and A Ko'olau Au that honor Lono and Pele. These are so important chant because these are associated with Gods, so only people with advanced skills can sing and dance. Mahalo.

My plan for hula

Aloha. I've learning hula so I came to Hawaii. I was planning to study, dance hula and enjoy Hawaiian life, but I couldn't enjoy my normal life in Hawaii for a long time because the situation got worse three months after I came to Hawaii. It will be my last Oahu in July because I'm going to go back to Japan in August. I will take only online class for the fall semester. Next year, I plant to move Hilo so I want to learn hula in Hilo. Until now, I had been taught hula by Kumu from Oahu. Oahu and Hawaii Island have different dance styles. Hawaii Island's style is more powerful and attractive, so I would like to learn Hilo style next year. Mahalo.

About hula

Aloha! In my blog, I would like to share my experiences and the general about hula. First, you may already know, but just in case, let me introduce hula simply. Hula has 2 types: Kahiko and Auana. Kahiko is a tradditional dance and dances to the sound of the drum. Auana is modern dance and dance to the sound of ukulele. I started learning Kahiko when I was 10. It is a powerful and very attractive dance so I love Kahiko. I would be happy if you are interested in hula! Mahalo.
